Stonevana

Our story

Stonevana began in 2019 with a question no crystal shop could answer: where, exactly, did this come from?

The honest answer, back then, was usually a shrug. Stones changed hands four or five times between the mine and the shop shelf, and by the end nobody could say which country a piece came from, let alone which hillside.

So we started travelling. First to Uruguay, where a third-generation family operation in Artigas cuts amethyst the color of storm clouds. Then Madagascar, Namibia, Sri Lanka. Today we work directly with fourteen small lapidary workshops across nine countries — no consolidators, no mystery pallets.

How we grade

Every lot that arrives in Rotterdam is washed, laid out under daylight-balanced lamps, and graded piece by piece for color saturation, structural integrity and finish. Roughly a fifth of what we buy never makes it to the shop — it becomes studio seconds, sold at cost at our yearly open day.

What we promise

Natural stones only, treatments always disclosed, photographs never borrowed. Each order ships with a printed origin card naming the mine and the month the lot was graded. If a piece arrives and doesn't feel right, returns are free for 30 days.
